Physician Assistant (PA) services

Our physician assistants are an important part of our healthcare team, and working alongside our physicians can:

• Perform routine examinations on adults, infants and children
• Order laboratory work and X-rays
• Prescribe medications
• Counsel patients about their health
• Perform papanicolaou tests (pap smears)
• Take biopsy samples
• Suture lacerations

A physician assistant, after receiving an undergraduate degree, receives two years of intensive post-graduate training and must successfully complete the Physician Assistant National Certification Examination.
